I am thinking of old Istanbul and its seven hills. I have not seen this one before, could it be the then very famous Golden Horn?

You could also rephrase the Turkish version of the question:
"Bu resme bakınca ne düşünüyorsun?"
You can use 'bakmak' for it. Or, to be a bit more dramatic
"Bu resim sana ne düşündürüyor?"
Or
"Bu resme baktığında ne düşünüyorsun?"
There is a variety of ways to convey this message/question.
Görüntü yerine resim daha iyi bence. Ana dili Türkçe olan birisi bu resim için 'resim' terimini kullanır yani picture or painting or impression.
Also ne düğünüyorsun instead of neyi düşünüyorsun. Because you are asking them what they are thinking it is nominative, and doesn't get the accusative (yani ismin -i hali ya da gösterme hali).
